The SACC Experience

South Australian Children's Choir was founded with the aim of providing all children who call South Australia home with the opportunity to develop their musical talents and perform in a supportive and nurturing environment. Over the years, the choir has grown in size and reputation, since its beginnings as the Children's choir at Robins Academy.

Looking towards the future, the choir aims to perform at various events and festivals across the state, continuing its tradition of excellence in choral music and inspiring the next generation of young singers.

SACC's repertoire includes a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, and the children are encouraged to explore their creativity and express themselves through music. The choir's dedicated conductor Natalie Robins ensures that every child receives the best possible musical education and performance experience. With a strong focus on community engagement and outreach, the South Australian Children's Choir is a valuable asset to the cultural life of the state and beyond.

About the Vocal Director:

Natalie Robins

Natalie is a choral singing speech & drama, and piano teacher based in Adelaide, South Australia, with over twenty years of teaching experience. She is the founder and proprietor of both "Robins Academy" and the "South Australian Children's Choir". Natalie’s musical journey commenced with the piano at a very young age. She went on to complete the grade examinations in Music both practical and theory through ABRSM and Trinity College London (TCL) and worked through the Performers Certificate in Music and ATCL thereafter. She also studied Speech & Drama through Trinity College London (TCL). Apart from her studies of the arts, Natalie is also a qualified Charted Secretary through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators London and holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Coming from a family of musicians, Natalie has grown up being exposed to a variety of musical genres and choral groups which have enhanced her ability to experience, appreciate and teach to the best of her ability. At the age of fifteen Natalie went on to be the church organist and taught music full time in an International School prior to joining a financial institution. She still continued with her teaching in activity schools, part time, and conducted lessons for students privately, back in her home country, Sri Lanka. Natalie has trained school choirs for annual competitions and christmas programmes and has been part of choral groups herself. She has also performed in speech and drama competitions and has participated in many onstage performances. Her move to Australia has given her the opportunity to pursue her desire to teach and bring music into the hearts of all age groups, and for this she is truly grateful to God. She is a volunteer organist at Good Shepherd Church in Clearview.

What Natalie loves most about her teaching is the fact that she is passionate about what she does. It is this passion that drives her to be a better teacher each day. She is capable of spontaneously entertaining any age group with music and song on any occasion. Natalie strives to nurture such abilities in her students and encourages them to discover, create and embrace music and the arts in all its forms.
